The Neeman Association for Stroke Survivors is a national self help group with regional activities for stroke survivors and their families. Its aims are to promote prevention at all levels and to improve the quality of life for members. This is achieved through influencing governmental policy on prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of stroke, helping to provide activities for unanswered needs, raising awareness of the impact of a stroke amongst the general public and by aiding in the training of medical and paramedical professionals.
The Italian stroke association, Associazione Lotta Ictus Cerebrale (ALICE) was founded in 1997. As part of their work they have an information campaign look at the prevention of stroke, including a National Stroke Day.
De Nederlandse CVA-vereniging Samen Verder, the Dutch Stroke Association, looks at helping stroke patients and their families. As part of their work they focus on the primary prevention of stroke.
Landsforeningen For Slagrammede, the Norwegian Stroke Association, is an organisation made up of volunteers. It aims to inform and educate the population about primary and secondary prevention of stroke.
